Despite the impending closure of the Federation we are committed to finding an RTO which will offer the Advanced Diploma we designed in 2006.
Health Schools Australia has been contacted in relation to the Advanced Diploma, to see whether they might be interested in taking the package on board with their existing courses. The College specialises in distance education.

The Federation continues to scour the Registered Training Organisations around the country, to find courses relevant to Energy Medicine, that may be of value to our members. We are supporting a number of committed practitioners and manufacturers who are already
well advanced in developing the appropriate courses, in line with the required Competency
standards.
Philosophy
The discipline of Energy Medicine is gaining rapid acceptance in the community, and we believe in light of the
National Health Training package that was released in 2002, the time has come for courses and training to be developed and implemented.
We believe it is necessary to fall into line with other disciplines in this country and submit to accreditation
processes if we are to develop any credibility for our work.
Looking at the Big picture, long term, we believe, it is also imperative to start a process of generating quality
research results from well-designed clinical trials, which may be published and peer reviewed, This may be the only viable way
forward in this evidence based medical world we now live in. Nothing gets attention quicker than a published peer-reviewed trial
!
We need committed and professional people willing to step up to the plate, to set up these trials and be involved
in running them. For this to become a reality we need money, reputable clinics and educational institutions to be involved. Perhaps
this opens the way to lay foundations for applying to the Government for a research grant. In light of the recent grant of $5M from the Federal Goverment in May 2007 for the establishment of a National Institute for Research in Complementary Medicine, this may become a reality far sooner than we could have ever hoped!
The Federation is working toward developing a clinical trial template in accordance with recognised
international scientific guidelines, and one of our goals is to generate enough funds through membership subs to either fully
or partially fund a research project within our industry. We would welcome any suggestions or applications for a topic.
Suggested Training Pathway
A number of manufacturers of different devices have already been approached and are discussing the options of
embracing a customised training Competencies package, designed specifically for their product, but which would also fall within
the Government requirements of accredited training.
The next step for any practitioner would then be to complete an Advanced Diploma in Energy Medicine (Adv DIP
EM) available as a distance learning course. Recognition of prior learning both from existing qualifications, and topics covered
within the initial training package of purchasing a device, would considerably lessen the time and cost factor for most practitioners
to achieve the Advanced Diploma. For those lacking previous healthcare training, it would give them an excellent grounding.
Bottom line is that any practitioner would, if they choose, have access to completing a course of study, designed
to give them a nationally recognised accreditation in Energy Medicine and enable them to be eligible for :
- Professional liability coverage in the field of Energy Medicine
- Health insurance rebate
- TGA exemption status for ingestible practitioner line products
