February 2008
In light of the Federation being wound up, no CPE points will be issued.

The AFEM Continuing Professional Education Policy has been designed to ensure our practitioners regularly update their clinical skills and professional knowledge. The AFEM regards the Continuing Professional Education program as an important part of a practitioner's responsibility to themselves and their patients. Being a professional person generally implies a commitment to updating and furthering one's education. It is not enough for a person to become a professional, one must remain a professional.

AFEM Members who are currently involved in clinical practice must accumulate 20 Continuing Professional Education points per annum, commencing and ending in the financial year. The general rule is that one hour of activity equates with one Continuing Professional Education point. The AFEM Continuing Professional Education Policy outlines all necessary requirements and which activities are appropriate for members to undertake.

To view the AFEM CPE Policy, please click here.

The onus of record keeping is the responsibility of each member. Members will be issued with a Continuing Professional Education Record form, and members are to record their activities with the required proof in the Continuing Professional Education Record. The requirement of proof is an essential factor in the Continuing Professional Education process, and the evidence produced must be reasonably self-evident that the activity was undertaken. Proof of a dubious nature will not be accepted.
